MSC is owned and operated by Rick Staples, a seasoned professional with over 35 years of experience in heavy equipment operation and safety training. Our mission is to provide municipal workers with the most comprehensive, practical, and effective safety compliance training available.

At MSC, we believe that safety training should be thorough, efficient, and tailored to the needs of the learner. Our courses are designed to help attendees quickly grasp essential safety concepts, whether they are learning for the first time or refreshing their knowledge. We understand the importance of keeping workers safe, and our programs are built to do just that.
About MSC
Rick’s journey in the construction industry began in 1986 when he first started operating heavy equipment. Over the years, his hands-on experience and deep understanding of the industry have shaped his approach to safety. Since 2001, Rick has dedicated his career to ensuring the safety of workers and operators through his roles as a crane and equipment inspector, trainer, and product developer.
The turning point in Rick's career came in 2008 after the tragic tower crane collapse in New York City that claimed nine lives. Rick was called upon to inspect over 400 cranes, design an inspection program, and train city inspectors. This pivotal experience reinforced his commitment to safety and led him to develop innovative training programs that have since educated thousands of workers.
